Next Up: Google Office as soon as tomorrow?

Posted by ADMIN

"Google and Sun Microsystems will hold a press conference on Tuesday at which they're expected to announce a collaboration to bring StarOffice productivity applications to Google users." Well I'll be perking an ear to what exactly this is all about, always interested to see what google is up to. Though wish GTalk would get a better push.

Serenity was good

I just watched Serenity, it was really good. I can't really say much else because I wouldn't wanna accidentally spoil it for someone that might happen to read my blog and planning on to see it soon. But really well done, I really like Joss Whedon's writing & characters. I was disappointed in one thing though, NO THEME SONG???? I miss my Firefly theme song :-P Go see it if you haven't, and watch Firefly if you haven't because it's quite good.

iPods are cool?

Posted by ADMIN

OK so I love the iPod, it's an awesome digital music player. Simple interface, works well, nice design, etc. etc. But recently friends have been pointing out that iPods are no longer 'cool'. Apparently everybody and their mom has an iPod and obviously for us true-cool kids, that's not cool. As funny as that sounds, I think i'd be ashamed to flaunt my usage of an iPod if I were still on campus, when I was last on campus it was a semi-rare occurrence to see someone else with an iPod. Now I hear it's like a plague. This is great for Apple and all but some still don't like being like everybody else. Luckily I don't go on campus so I can use my iPod and not thinking about the tons of people now using them on campus and elsewhere. It's not longer “Hey cool you got an iPod” it's more “You have an iPod, who doesn't?” On the social aspect, it's kind of interesting how a lot of people feel like it's no longer cool if too many people suddenly jump on that particular bandwagon, what's up with that? I do it myself. It might be a bit weird for me if suddenly everybody was using a mac and had a goatee or something like me. Guess what we use is part of our attempts at uniqueness, but hard to keep it part of what makes us unique if it's something as cool as an iPod. :) Ramblings! Sorry about that! Check out Alex's bwog, threadless t-shirt to vote on, I should be a nice guy and go register and vote for it.

What happens when you play WoW on my powerbook for a couple hours with it in my lap. So I got World of Warcraft tonight, couldn't resist with my EBgames store credit, it's like free. So it's pretty cool, haven't played much, maybe 2 hours so far. I created a gnome on Khadgar, where I believe my sister and her boyfriend play, hopefully my sis was right when she said that name, otherwise gotta start a new character on whatever server it may be. Everybody I know is on a different server, what a pain. Anyway, take a look at my little short gnome, funny looking guy. I'm really tired and bed time, hope to play more soon and start getting somewhere beyond home land and killing silly animals, but still cool. So give a shout to the little short Gnomejerome on Khadgar if your on that realm, hopefully it'll be a realm I'll be on frequently, apparently I know people on Zul'jin, Khadgar, Doomhammer, and Magheridon. Who's cooler? heh, we'll see where I end up spending the most time, Zul'jin might win some more time because a person I know on there probably plays more often than my sis. I also briefly visited Zul'gin created Bigjerome there, yes I'm not creative with names, but he is big.... Also, Blizzard is AWESOME at CG work. I watched the opening video to WoW not long ago and starts off with a shot of a Dwarf I think with the most amazing looking CG'd beard ever. They always make such impressive CG videos. Keep it up Blizzard.

I took a trip down to South Berwick, ME to visit my friend. Was good times, I wouldn't mind living in that area, close to Portsmouth, NH and Dover, NH which have some nice areas that remind me a little of Burlington, VT which I always enjoyed hanging out and what not in. Ah, but to be in Orono, ME, such good times.... or not. I made it there and back again on one tank of gas though, 36.72mpg is what I averaged too. Not too bad. I probably couldn't make a trip home to Vermont on one tank though, that'd be kinda cool if I could. I managed to break my CD player in my car on the way back too, but I think it works again. I wonder if I have some aura that makes technological devices malfunction for me. My TV has problems, my home theater system (well a speaker is blown, can't really say malfunction for that), and my DVD player (which might be fine now that I unplugged it and shut subtitles off completely). Oh my cell phone is known to have problems also, not as bad as when my friend had the same model, but it has shown possible signs of suckitude.
